What FuzzyPlate is
FuzzyPlate helps people make an edited sharing copy of a vehicle photo. It is useful for sale listings, social posts and workshop photographs where a registration plate, sign, reflection or another visible detail is not needed in the published image.
Why it was created
The site is focused on a small, practical task: making it easier to review and manually obscure selected details before a vehicle image is shared more widely. The detector can suggest likely registration plates, but it does not make decisions about signs or other details.
How the current tool works
You choose an image, review any likely plate suggestions, select each area you want to obscure, choose an effect and download an edited copy. The current image processing happens locally in the browser; FuzzyPlate does not receive or store the image. Read the step-by-step guide or open the FuzzyPlate tool.
Independence and limitations
FuzzyPlate is independent and is not affiliated with DVLA, GOV.UK or any government service. It does not automatically find every plate, reflection or other detail, and blurring an image does not guarantee privacy, security or a particular legal outcome. Review the complete edited image before sharing it.
