Marketplaces, classified adverts and social media listings can put your vehicle photos in front of a wide audience. Blurring or pixelating visible plates can reduce accidental exposure while still leaving the condition, colour, trim and details visible to buyers.
Prepare the complete photo set
Gather the exterior, interior, engine-bay and detail shots you plan to publish before you edit. A listing is often uploaded as a set, so checking only the hero image leaves later photos easy to miss. Keep the original files in one folder and make separate edited copies for the public listing.
Check every angle
Review front and rear plates first, then scan the rest of the frame: small plates at image edges, cars parked nearby, reflections in mirrors, windows and glossy paintwork. Cropped images can reveal a background plate that was not obvious in the original composition.
Work through multi-image listings
Edit and review one image at a time, then do a final pass through the full marketplace gallery before publishing. If you add new photographs later, run the same check rather than assuming the first batch covers them.

Blur vs pixelate
Blur gives a softer edit that often looks tidier in a car advert. Pixelate creates a more blocky edit that can be easier to spot during your final review. Either way, use enough strength that the registration cannot be read in the public copy.
